Attractive women are discriminated against in certain professions, according to a recent study that asked participants to sort photographs of job applicants based on their "suitability for the job." But what kind of jobs aren't suitable for a total babe?

Apparently, being a hottie is "highly detrimental" for certain professions—specifically, jobs where "appearance [is] not seen as important." What kinds of jobs are those?

  • Manager of research and development
  • Director of finance
  • Construction supervisor
  • Director of security
  • Hardware salesperson (that chick could sure sell me some "hardware"!!!!! Okay, sorry; I promise it won't happen again.)
  • Prison guard
  • Tow-truck driver
  • Model for invisibility cloak
  • Person who lives on island populated entirely by blind people
  • Waitress at one of those restaurants where the whole thing is dark

Attractive men, for their part, faced no such discrimination. Don't feel too bad for those poor, discriminated-against, stone-cold foxes, though: According to researcher Stefanie Johnson of the University of Colorado Denver, "In every other kind of job, attractive women were preferred." And, yes, pretty people have higher salaries, more favorable judgments in trials, and better lives in general, always.
