Ed Schultz's MSNBC Rampage: 'I'm Going to Torch This F*cking Place'
Unwatchable MSNBC host Ed Schultz apparently wasn't so happy about being omitted from the network's recent election night promos. Two weeks ago, Page Six reports, he went nuts in MSNBC's New York offices, screaming obscenities at everyone.
Schultz, host of 6 p.m.'s The Ed Show, apparently cried in his bosses' offices afterwards, after yelling what was probably "fuckers!" at everyone in the office:
MSNBC talk show screamer Ed Schultz had a meltdown in the network's 30 Rock newsroom, shouting at staff, "I'm going to torch this [bleep]ing place."
The hot-tempered anchor of "The Ed Show" lost it during a phone call in the packed studio and slammed down the phone before exploding.
As astonished MSNBC staff members fell silent, Schultz glared around the room and yelled, "[Bleep]ers!"
A witness told us, "Ed was furious the network was running election-night promos and he wasn't in them. He'd been arguing on the phone with marketing, then he slammed down the phone and exploded. It was like Mel Gibson had entered the newsroom."
This incident allegedly took place on August 12. Interestingly, Inside Cable News notes that the next morning, Joe Scarborough appeared to be making fun of Ed's rampage on Morning Joe. It didn't make much sense at the time, but now we know that was leaving a trail of clues! Cable news is insane.
