Michael Marino, a Deputy Chief with the NYPD, has been suspended for 30 days for being caught using human growth hormone in 2007. A small price to pay for its invigorating effects!

The NYT reports that Marino is currently being sued by one of his officers who says he was retaliated against after speaking out about manipulation of crime statistics in his precinct. [Update: We also covered that case last month—for excerpts of the cop's lawsuit, see here.]

In the suit, Officer Schoolcraft claims Chief Marino was among several high-ranking officers who showed up at his home in Glendale on Oct. 31, 2009, and took him by force to a hospital for psychiatric observation. The suit claims Chief Marino placed his boot on Officer Schoolcraft's head as he was pinned down and said, "It didn't have to be like this."

Two years after HGH and still pinning down younger officers with ease. You can't get that with a protein shake!
