Today in worm-in-eyeballs news: A man in Bellevue, Iowa learned he had a worm living in his eyeball. So he did what anyone would do when faced with such a situation: He called an Animal Planet reality show.

John Matthews told the Telegraph Herald that he either picked up the worm in his eyeball from turkey hunting or a trip to Mexico. Doctors discovered it after Matthews complained of seeing spots obscuring his vision. They zapped it with lasers and killed it. Then Matthews called producers of an Animal Planet show he likes called "Monsters Inside Me" (Warning: Website Not Safe for Anyone). This is a show about parasites of all kinds. Needless to say, the producers of "Monsters Inside Me" "found his story intriguing," and now he has his very own episode.

Way to turn having a worm in your eyeball into a positive situation, John Matthews! All that other woman with the worm in her eyeball got was an article in the New England Journal of Medicine.
