Not sure why the New York Times decided to run an A14 story with the headline "Random Fact About Bill Clinton," but they should do this more often. This random fact: Clinton's favorite TV commercial is an ESPN spot.

According to the Times:

His shout-out goes to an ESPN advertisement, below, a "fabulous" role-reversal bit in which a group of geeky mathletes deride a couple of jocks as nerds for discussing sports stats in the cafeteria.

He said it was a metaphor for policy discussions in the United States. If Americans cared about politics and policy as much as they did about sports, he said, they would be more focused on hard facts. This, he said, would help Democrats (Republicans would disagree).
