Homophobic Comment on Gay Rights Blog Traced to Republican Senator's Office
Someone left a nasty comment on gay rights blogger Joe.My.God's popular site. It read: "All faggots must die." Joe posted the IP address and asked readers to trace it. Turns out it came from a Georgia Republican Senator's office.
Joe posted the IP address along with the fact that the ISP was "United States Senate," and it appeared to come from the Atlanta office of Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Georgia). Now the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has confirmed that Sen. Chambliss is investigating whether a staffer left the comment using the name "Jimmy" on a post about the Don't Ask Don't Tell cloture vote.
We imagine the Chambliss office is now scrambling to figure out how to blame this all on a cat walking across a keyboard. Don't mess with nerdy gays!
(Also, as mentioned in the comments, Saxby won his election in 2002 by smearing Democrat Max Cleland, a triple amputee and Vietnam vet. (Joe My) God, this is great.)
