The show revolves around three couples: one in the "honeymoon" phase, one unmarried couple together for nine years, and an older couple married for 35 years. Hope you like your current relationship or this show might make you feel awkward!

The Pitch

What your TV Guide Said: A sitcom about the relationships among three couples from one family. In the opener, Maddie (Jennifer Finnigan) is distressed to learn her younger sister, Mia (JoAnna Garcia), is engaged to a guy she's only known a short while.

Here's the opening of the show—it can explain it better for you:

The Set Up

The show revolves around two sisters, Mia and Maddie. Each of them have a boyfriend! Mia and her beau Casey have been together for 7 1/2 weeks, while Maddie and Ben have been together for 9 years are still unmarried. The whole show revolved around relationship jokes, as you'll see below in a sample of last night's program:

Cringe Factor (Out of 10)

Better With You gets a cringe-factor of 4, mainly because it's so predictable that I found myself shouting at the TV what would happen next. This happens in a pilot, but in order for the show to be a success we'd like to see more development of the characters. Ben and Casey clearly have the perfect admiration for each other for a bromance, and please oh please make good use of Kitty from That 70's Show. She's a delight.

It's also cringe-worthy in that they constantly use relationship jokes throughout the episode. Have you been dating your partner for years? Get ready to feel jealous of the "honeymoon phase" couple and slightly guilty about completing each others sentences. If you're not in a couple, have fun feeling like you'll die alone with five cats eating your face off!

How Long Until It's Canceled?

It feels like the kind of show that American television watchers would tune in to regularly, and being the lead-in to Modern Family will only help it's chances of sticking around. I give it two seasons.
