A painful awareness of the world's injustices seemed to hit 67-year-old Wisconsin man Steven Cowan all at once last night, while watching Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol flop around badly enough to advance in a televised dance competition.

A SWAT team had to surround his house and bring him into custody, according to TMZ, after he fired his shotgun into the television and then pointed it at his wife (who escaped). Apparently he got so worked up because he "felt Palin was not a good dancer and that she was only on the show because of her famous mother."

The saddest part of this story? It's not that he's bipolar. It's that it took him this many weeks into the season to realize that Palin's only on the show because of her famous mother. No just kidding, the saddest part is probably that he's bipolar.
