The two most powerful forces in the world, are jaded old men, and lewd young girls. Beware them both.
You have to connect all the dots on this story- Berlusconi tried to cover this up by claiming that he thought the 17 year old girl was Mubarak's niece/granddaughter (he got her out of jail with this story). This seriously offended Mubarak to no end because, well c'mon!, Berlusconi was basically calling the women in Mubarak's family whores. No good. Berlusconi tried to apologize, but Hosni wasn't having it. So, when all this trouble was going on in Egypt and all the European leaders were issuing joint statements and having meetings and whatnot- remember what happened? Out of no where comes good ole Berlusconi to declare that Mubarak is the "wisest of men" and a bunch of other flowery nonsense about how he needed to stay in office. This of course caused great confusion because Berlusconi SIGNED the joint statement released that day which said the opposite.
The theory is that it was Berlusconi's way of trying to win Hosni's forgiveness for the previous unpleasantness. Isn't that so sweet? 80 million Egyptians' freedom sold out so that two, nasty old men could bury the hatchet about a child prostitute. Sadly for Berlusconi, his 'apology' did not work. Who knows, if it had, maybe Mubarak would have even reciprocated and played along with the "he really did think it was my niece!" defense.
Wasn't the girl Moroccan?
I hope this does not prevent him from appearing on the Jersey Shore episodes shot in Italia.
Maybe the Shore people can hold a rally for him outside the court house. They could call it, "Fist Pumping for Freedom!"
