Westboro Baptist Church Gets Its Anonymous Hacking
Last weekend, it looked like hackers from Anonymous and hate-spewing Westboro Baptist Church were about to have at it. Then Anonymous backed off, claiming the whole thing was a hoax perpetrated by the church itself. But today Anonymous hacked Westboro's website anyway—while an Anonymous member engaged in a live radio debate with Westboro spokesthing Shilrey Roper no less. (See: 8:20 in the video above) Anonymous posted one of their open letters on the infamous Godhatesfags.com website, which is still down.
In it, Anonymous said the attack was in response to "Your recent antics to gain attention for yourself." It continued: "Take this defacement as a simple warning: go away. The world (including Anonymous) disagrees with your hateful messages, but you have the right to voice them. This does not mean you can jump on Anonymous for attention."
Here was Roper's response to the attack, via Twitter.
Thank God. Westboro doctrine is all over the web. #AnonymousHasALotOfWorkToDo #GottaTakeDownWholeInternet :-)less than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhone

DearShirley
Asked if there will be any more fallout for the Church, an Anonymous insider told us "We're done with Westboro. Never wanted to fuck with them in the first place. Just want them to calm down and leave us alone, we're busy."
Internet war, folks. About as satisfying as a real one.
