Next up on the House Republicans' Jobs Agenda, following a measure to defund ObamaCare, a smattering of abortion bills, and an unresolved budget dispute over ghost issues is this wonder from Virginia Rep. Randy Forbes: A bill to reaffirm "In God We Trust" as America's official motto, and to ensure that it's plastered over government buildings everywhere.

"In God We Trust" was adopted as the official motto in the '50s around the same time that "under God" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance. These measures drew a contrast between America and the godless commies. Forty years later, many of the godless commies converted to social democracies or authoritarian crony-capitalist regimes, so the plan clearly worked. Why not "reaffirm" the official motto now, while America is spiraling towards complete and mostly self-induced moral and economic collapse?

From Raw Story:

The US House of Representatives will have a chance to vote on a resolution to affirm the phrase "In God We Trust" as the nation's official motto after it was approved by the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

Congressman J. Randy Forbes (R-VA), the founder and chairman of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, sponsored the legislation. It would encourage the public display of the motto in all public buildings, public schools and government institutions.

Fine, just hurry up and pass it already. I mean, we should craft an entirely new, fresh motto at this point. "America: Just Down the Street From the Stucco Taco Bell/KFC," perhaps, with a "God" thrown in wherever if people want it. Because who gives a fuck, right?
