Yesterday we reported that the STD test database was breached at the private clinic that serves the porn industry, exposing the real names and test results of thousands of performers. The clinic, AIM Medical Associates, now says it's investigating the breach.

"I can't stress enough, we're victims of a crime," AIM spokeswoman told NBC LA. "Just like the Pentagon and the FBI, we have been victimized and hacked. We are investigating and we will press all charges."

The website Porn Wikileaks, which is hosted in the Netherlands, posted what it claims are 15,000 real names of porn performers with the help of the leaked database.

A major question remains: When did AIM first become aware of the breach? Porn Wikileaks has been well-known in the porn industry blogosphere for months. Did AIM really not suspect a breach until blogger Mike South brought it up a couple days ago in a post (NSFW)? And if AIM did know about or suspected it earlier, why didn't they notify their patients of the breach? (We've emailed AIM with these questions and will updated when they respond.)
