The Secret to Willpower: Having to Pee and Clenching Your Fists
Thanks to psychology, the greatest science of the 20th century, we now know just what it takes for you to have a will of steel: an intense urge to go to the bathroom and making a fist.
Two new studies have proved this. The first had subjects drink varying amounts of water and then gave them various tests. The results prove that the more a person had to pee the more willpower they had and more accurate their decisions were.
Another study had subjects clench a pen in their hands and then put them in various situations to test if they would cave in or stay strong. Those with flexed muscles made better choices and showed more restraint than their relaxed counterparts.
So the next time you see someone with white knuckles doing the pee-pee dance, they're not crazy, they're just trying to be more disciplined. Thanks, science.
