Tokyo Disneyland Reopens Friday
Some upbeat news for the Japanese tourism industry: The country may have just upgraded their ongoing nuclear disaster to Chernobyl-levels, but as of this coming Friday, Tokyo Disneyland will reopen its gates to visitors.
According to a foreboding welcome message on the park website, "Tokyo Disney Resort is currently preparing for our re-opening the park early. Upon actual resumption of the park, taking into account various circumstances, we repeated the study on the best way." (Broken translation courtesy of Google Translate.)
The upshot is that the park will begin welcoming visitors at the end of this week, and will stay open daily until 6 p.m., to conserve power. The adjacent, nautically themed Tokyo DisneySea park will remain closed until later this month, however, at which point unfortunately named attractions like The Whirlpool, StormRider and The Tokyo DisneySea Tower of Terror will be back up and running.
