Today is the future you heard about yesterday, and it's here: a paralyzed man can now stand up and walk. Thanks to science!

Rob Summers, a 25 year-old L.A. man who was paralyzed from the waist down in a car accident five years ago, is now able to stand, walk on a treadmill, and even have a little "sexual function," not to be to brash about it. It's all due to a thing where they put 16 electrodes on his spinal cord, which helps him move his once-paralyzed muscles. Scientists are so fucking psyched, because this technique has never been proven to work in a human, until now.

What can you say? Pretty awesome. With paralysis overcome, science now turns its attention to the creation of an automatic hair-cutting robot—that really works.
