The late, great Elizabeth Taylor lived in many homes over the course of her lifetime, leaving the stuff of romance novels wherever she landed. The Wall Street Journal brings word that Taylor's Bel-Air, Calif., estate, where the actress lived from 1981 until her death, in March, has just been listed for $8.6 million.

Taylor and her family spent holidays in the 7,000-square-foot ranch, which is reportedly filled with 18th-century antiques, Aubusson carpets, and Impressionist paintings—"[s]he never entertained the notion of moving," said one of her sons. Her bedroom (one of five) took up the entire second floor of the house and boasts walls upholstered in violet fabric, Taylor's favorite color. Also on the 1.2-acre property: a pool, a hothouse for orchids, and a koi pond. Love the history but can't quite commit? The Miami Beach, Fla., home of Taylor's one-time fiance William Pawley, Jr., is on the rental market for $50K a month.
