Dominique Strauss-Kahn Moves to TriBeCa
Dominique Strauss-Kahn is on the move in Manhattan! (Did you see his cameo on the Glee finale? It was in that scene in Sardi's.) Out on $1 million cash bail and $5 million bond and desperately in need of a place to crash, the former IMF head and accused sexual assaulter has already fled the stilletto-hurling mobs of the Upper East Side and Downtown.
Destination: TriBeCa.
Mr. Strauss-Kahn left 71 Broadway about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, accompanied by two plainclothes police officers and led by the police chief, Joseph J. Esposito. Mr. Strauss-Kahn was smiling. He entered the back seat of a Lexus S.U.V., which was trailed by an unmarked car and led by a police car. A few moments later, he arrived at 153 Franklin. Cameras from the assembled news media went off, and in a matter of seconds he was inside his new home.
The Post has the rundown on the new place:
- A three-story, 6,800-square-foot townhouse.
- Listed at $14 million, it's the most expensive rental in the area: $50,000 a month.
- Contains a "home theater, gym, spa, bar and rec rooms."
- Nanny room, waterfall showers, radiant-heat floors, Boffi kitchen with Miele and Gaggenau appliances, etc.
The Times quotes a neighbor who said, "Obviously it's going to be a media circus around here for a while," while the Post noted the far less diplomatic female passerby who shouted "Pig!" at him as he entered his new residence.
