Here's a trailer for the American (read: real) version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, a movie adaptation of the late Stieg Larsson's hugely popular mystery novel. A redband "bootlegged" trailer popped up over the weekend, but this here is the official one.

What do we see? Not much! Just a bunch of stark pictures of wintry people doing wintry things in wintry places. There's an ominous snow-covered mansion that features prominently, plus a healthy dose of Christopher Plummer doing his Concerned Christopher Plummer Hiding Secrets thing that he does so well. Also, Julian Sands! Where the hell have you been, Sands? Gearing up to play Julian Assange in Julian!, one hopes.

But yeah, cool music and cool photography equals cool trailer. That David Fincher really knows his way around an effective preview.
