Surging future presidentrix of America Michele Bachmann has got a well-documented problem with homosexuals, because they trap her in restrooms all the time. But on the subject of same-sex marriage, she sounds surprisingly reasonable. Maybe that gay glitter was cut with mood stabilizers?

As Think Progress reports, earlier this morning the typically crazy-eyed Bachmann calmly told Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace that she's cool-ish with the amendment because of states rights. "[U]nder the 10th amendment, the states have the right to set the laws that they want to set," she says. Also: "I think that it's best to allow the people to decide on this issue. I think it's best if there is an amendment that goes on the ballot, where people can weigh in. [...]" She still wants a heterosexual-marriage Constitutional amendment, she says. But the fact that she didn't speculate that the New York senate was going to build gay indoctrination preschools or force families to attend Pride Parades at gunpoint or anything else similarly paranoid and insane kind of impresses us.

While Bachmann tries out being reasonable, some of New York's Catholic church leaders have gone the opposite way—saying they're banning any of the heathen legislators who supported the same-sex bill from all Catholic church and school events—including, we assume, Lenten fish fries and charity bingo nights. Also, the bishop of Brooklyn's diocese wants all the Catholic schools to reject any honors that Governor Andrew Cuomo tries to give them, and has "asked all pastors and principals to 'not invite any state legislator to speak or be present at any parish or school celebration.'"
