Chet Haze, Northwestern University's best and worst rapping son of Tom Hanks, had only performed on campus—until last weekend, when he ventured out to Enclave, a club in Chicago where joke rappers play, for his first real world concert.

The club's theme of the night, appropriately, was "Candyland." Intrepid Gawker Chet Haze correspondent Nicole Lasky (pictured, with Chet Haze) reports on the scene:

I'd say there were about 100 to 150 people there. It was a decent sized crowd but the club itself was pretty small. It was primarily made up of meatheads and club girls; my date told me that the guy behind me was singing along with all three songs, so apparently there were some Chet Haze superfans in attendance. I met some guy on the smoking deck who said he was a music producer and was there because he was fascinated that Chet Haze is making such a name for himself purely by being terrible.

The show was not particularly off the hook. I was disappointed with the length, especially since he didn't go on until almost 1:00, and with the fact that he was clearly rapping and singing over his recordings. I would have been more impressed if he didn't need such backup. Also, it would have been more off the hook if he brought those sexy dancers out earlier instead of at the end of his last song.

I was also surprised by Chet's diminutive stature. He is a small, thin guy with muscles. I thought he would be much bulkier from his press pictures...

I attached the picture I took with him. After the picture was taken, he asked me, "How did you like me?" I replied, "Oh, you were amazing." Then he walked away.

Also in attendance that night at Enclave: Chet Haze relatives Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson. INF Daily has several photos of them here. While we can't definitively say "Tom Hanks was laughing at the Chet Haze performance," we can definitively say "Tom Hanks was at the Chet Haze performance, laughing."

And as you can see, somebody grabbed his dick, but we really can't be sure who.
