Bolt of Lightning Kills 22 Students and Their Teacher
A freak bolt of lightning hit a school in northwest Uganda, killing a teacher and 22 students and injuring 51 more, all between the ages of 7 and 16. The building had no lightning rod to ground strikes.
This isn't even the first such incident in recent weeks. A similar event during a recent electrical storm — one of many unseasonably severe storms currently ravaging the country — injured 37 students at a school about 200 miles away.
