Man Decapitates Disabled Seven-Year-Old Son
On Sunday, police in Thibodaux, La.—following up on a tip from someone who thought he saw a human head in the road—found a "a garbage bag of body parts."
They also found Jeremiah Lee Wright, 30, who told them it was a CPR dummy. It wasn't—it was his son, Jori Lirette, whom he'd killed and decapitated over the kitchen sink, he later admitted to police. Lirette was seven, and suffered from cerebral palsy; Wright has so far declined to share a motive, though he and Lirette's mother, Jesslyn Lirette, had apparently had fights over financial issues.
Wright was "stoic, emotionless, non-confrontational," according to police. He's been formally charged with first-degree murder, and could face the death penalty.
