Mexican Catches Real Fairy, Preserves It in Formaldehyde
An out-of-work bricklayer living in Guadalajara claims to have found an actual fairy while picking fruit. He then did what anyone lucky enough to stumble upon such a rare and magical creature as this might do: He placed the fairy in a container of formaldehyde, and is charging people to look at it.
‘I was picking guavas and I saw a twinkling. I thought it was a firefly. I picked it up and felt that it was moving; when I looked at it I knew that it was a fairy godmother,' [Jose] Maldonado [said.]
Thousands of residents have been lining up for three hours at a time to glimpse Jose's chemically preserved Tinkerbell, where his mother (seen in this video shedding tears and speaking of her spiritual awakening upon first glimpsing the fairy) dutifully collects their pesos in exchange for photos and souvenirs.
Now clap your hands everyone! Clap if you believe in the fairy! Harder! Harder still!
Nope. Fairy's still dead as a doornail. Her lungs are filled with a highly toxic chemical compound, you see. You could clap 'til your palms bled and she still wouldn't revive. [Ghost Theory via Anorak]
