Fugitive Qaddafi Son to World: 'Go to Hell'
Col. Muammar Qaddfi's high-profile son Seif al-Islam was said to have been captured late Sunday night by Libyan rebels — a claim that was repeated by the International Criminal Court in the Hague where Seif is charged with war crimes along with his father. But early this morning, Seif showed up at Tripoli's Rixos Hotel in a white limo to talk a little shit to foreign journalists. He even took reporters on a guided tour: "We are going to hit the hottest spots in Tripoli."
On the reports that he had been captured Seif told the AP, "The ICC can go to hell." It's unclear if Seif was ever even captured, but it doesn't seem likely that he was. And another son, Mohammed Qaddafi, escaped house arrest a day after giving a play-by-play of his arrest by phone to Al Jazeera. Meanwhile, three "Scud-type" missiles were fired from the Qaddafi stronghold of Sirte. In other words, it hasn't been a good 24 hours of PR for the Libyan rebels.
So far, Muammar Qaddafi is still on the run and proving that he's a survivor. And Seif al-Islam... well, the guy is cruising around the "hottest spots in Tripoli" in a white limo with an entourage. And where's Hannibal?
