Four Killed as Gunman Opens Fire with AK-47 in IHOP
A gunman in Carson City, Nev. opened fire with an AK-47 at an IHOP on Tuesday morning, killing three before shooting himself in the head. His motive is unclear. Two of the victims were members of the Nevada Army National Guard; the third was a civilian.
The shooter, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Department, is 32-year-old Eduardo Sencion; besides the three victims, six others were injured in what sounds like a terrifying few minutes:
Witnesses said a man pulled up outside the IHOP on U.S. Highway 395 in a blue minivan. He shot a man on a motorcycle, then walked inside the restaurant and started shooting, said Ralph Swagler, owner of Locals Barbecue in the same strip mall as the IHOP.
Swagler told the Reno Journal-Gazette that after several minutes, the man walked outside and began firing into the Locals Barbecue and an H&R Block in the strip mall.
One man's body lay just outside restaurant and two other bodies were still inside the restaurant just before noon. Police were seen looking for bullet holes in the Fandango casino across the street.
