After allegedly smacking his girlfriend upside the head with his guitar, dedicated axeman Edwin Summers offered this explanation: "When a woman messes with my guitar, she messes with my world." Did somebody celebrate Nigel Tufnel Day a bit too strenuously? Because that shit sounds straight out of This Is Spinal Tap.

Unfortunately for Summers—but not at all unfortunately for his girlfriend or society—when an aggro axeman from Chicago messes with the woman who messes with his guitar, the local authorities also mess with his world. Summers was arrested and charged with domestic battery and is being held on bond, reports the Chicago Tribune. Now he'll have to content himself with his air guitar. It's almost like he expected the cops to share his POV or something—but while artists break the laws, but cops enforce the laws. Abusing your girlfriend is against the law. It's not that difficult to understand.

Needless to say, we won't be attending his concerts anymore.
