Occupy Wall Street kicked off a big planned day of action today by swamping Wall St. in an attempt to prevent the morning bell at the New York Stock Exchange from ringing.

Hundreds of protesters gathered down at Zuccotti Park around 6:30 am today and marched on Wall Street in an attempt to keep traders from reaching the New York Stock Exchange. They succeeded in making the commute pretty annoying for financial district workers, but the bell rung on time, after some scuffles with police and at least 50 were arrested. A few hundred protesters are still down on Wall Street, blocking traffic, though it seems they're about to start a new march.
