Today, we give thanks to Brandon Gephart of Roseville, Calif., who, by having a seizure in the middle of Twilight: Breaking Dawn has given an actual, medical excuse to significant others everywhere who are doing their best to avoid the movie.

To be clear, we have no reason to believe that Gephart would pretend to have a full-blown seizure in order to get out of watching Twilight! The birth scene does, after all, feature "flashes of red, black and white" that could trigger "an episode of photosensitive epilepsy." And apparently there are more reports "on internet movie sites" of the scene inducing seizures. It certainly sounds scary!

Brandon Gephart and Kelly Bauman said they were watching "Breaking Dawn: Part One" at a theater Friday night when Brandon sudden began convulsing during a graphic birthing scene.

Brandon said he doesn't remember anything until he woke up on the theater floor, but Kelly said he was, "convulsing, snorting, trying to breathe."

So, again, we have every reason to believe that this is a real phenomenon, and not something that people are making up to get out of Twilight dates. We're just saying, you know: what if you have epilepsy and don't know about it? Probably best to stay home instead of going to the movie. Just to be safe!
