The Three Stooges: Nope, Still Not Funny
I'm sorry, but I never understood the appeal of The Three Stooges (outside of animated guest appearances on Scooby-Doo) and I don't at all understand why some brilliant sonofabitch in Hollywood thought it was a good idea to bring them back. It's the same joke over and over again for two hours!
Don't get me wrong, I love to see people fall over, get hit in the balls, otherwise humiliate themselves, and generally fall over and get hit on the head by things. Nothing makes me laugh harder than a Jackass movie. Really, nothing. But this? This is just dumb. It's three dudes leering at women and beating each other up. That is not funny.
Why is there nothing new or different about this remake? It seems like the worst kind of nostalgia, dipping into the cannon of the Stooges but without updating it for today's audience or adding something new, interesting, or original. No, we get Sean Hayes (from Will & Grace), Will Sasso (from MadTV), and Chris Diamantopoulos (from The Starter Wife ewwwww) doing their best impersonation of something that is best left in the '30s. At least I have a new punchline for all of my "shitty remakes" jokes. (And they're mean to my Snooki! How dare they!)
