Los Angeles Temporarily Saved From Burning to the Ground
For four days, a prolific car arsonist had Los Angeles car-owners posting up all night like nervous cowboys guarding their cattle from wolves. A suspect was arrested today; he might be mad at America for deporting his mom.
24-year-old Harry Burkhart was arrested during a traffic stop, bringing an apparent end to an arson spree that included at least 55 fires and caused $3 million in damage. (But, thankfully, no serious injuries.) According to some reports, Burkhart, a German national, might have been angry that his mom was in the process of being deported. He told police "I hate America," when he was arrested, according to ABC News.
Well, at least Los Angeles is mentally prepared for the wildfires now.
