Why Not Look Through Zooey Deschanel's Finances?

Living dog sweater Zooey Deschanel is getting a divorce from her husband, sweaty-looking Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard, and as part of her divorce filing, her lawyer (bizarrely and probably wrongly) included an income and expense declaration. Let's take a look at what life is like for the young, rich, and precious!
TMZ got the documents (they should do this more often), and, well, here's the thing: Zooey is rich. Adorably rich, obviously, but also just rich: $1,578,000 in the bank, $1,645,000 in stocks and about $693,300 worth of property, for a total net worth of $3,916,300. And the various media conglomerates that employ her to be endearingly helpless on camera and sweetly coquettish on microphone are giving her $95,000 a month.
That's more than enough for eyeliner for the rest of her life, especially when you consider her monthly expenditures top out at about $22,500. What's she spending that on? Some selections:
- Groceries and household supplies: $1,000
- Eating out: $500
- "Telephone, cell phone and e-mail": $300 [Email accounts are very expensive these days — Ed.]
- Laundry: $600
- Clothes: $2000
- Charitable contributions: $1,500 (!)
She'd be a pretty good catch for a gold-digger, if you're okay with the internet hating you for the rest of your life.
