Substitute Sadist
There's no denying that, for the most part, having a substitute teacher is pretty fantastic.
Maybe you and your friends go the classic prank route and let loose with Whoopee Cushions. Maybe you convince all of your classmates to speak exclusively in gibberish as part of a devious mind game. Maybe the new guy is way more engaging than your usual instructor, so you actually learn something. Maybe you get to watch a video.
Maybe the substitute makes you duct tape your wrists together.
That's what happened to a 10-year-old Illinois boy last Thursday.
The boy's babysitter called police after noticing marks on his wrists when he returned home from school. The fourth-grader reported that a substitute teacher had instructed him to sit as his desk and bind his own wrists together with duct tape.
According to a spokeswoman for the Indian Prairie Unit school district, it was unclear why the boy was asked to do this.
On top of that, doesn't it sound like it would be kind of hard to do?
The substitute has since been banned from working in any of the district's schools.
