Sparkle: Whitney Houston's Posthumous Comeback Film
The trailer for Sparkle was released today, and it doesn't include a single mention of being Whitney Houston's final film performance. Pretty impressive, as it's been less than two months since her death.
The movie is a remake of the 1976 Irene Cara film — and it looks a whole lot like Dreamgirls. Jordin Sparks stars, but Houston is the big draw here. If the trailer is any indication, Sparkle shows the star giving a solid performance: funny, heartfelt, and, of course, singing the hell out of the material.
To paraphrase Valley of the Dolls — sparkle, Whitney, sparkle.
