The First Stills from Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained Are Here
Entertainment Weekly has unveiled the first promotional stills from Quentin Tarantino's upcoming Western film, Django Unchained. The image above shows the movie's protagonist, Django, played by Jamie Foxx, striding beside Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz), a German bounty hunter who teams up with Django to hunt down the freed slave's former owners, the Brittle Brothers.
To the left, Leonardo DiCaprio in costume as Calvin Candie — a maniacal plantation owner who makes his slaves fight to the death, gladiator style. On their way to dispatch of the Brittle Brothers, Django and Schultz must take a detour to Candie Land, where Django's wife (Kerry Washington) is being held.
Asked if he expects the film will be controversial, Foxx replied "Oh, hell yeah. You kidding me?"
Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, and Sacha Baron Cohen also star. Django Unchained hits theaters this Christmas.
