Today the organization Unite Women joined forces with other pro-women organizations to orchestrate marches and rallies throughout the country.

Help defend women's rights and pursuit of equality. Join Americans all across the United States on April 28th, 2012, as we come together as one to tell members of Congress in Washington DC and legislators in all 50 states, "Enough is enough!"

The day of rallies was in response to increased anti-abortion and anti-contraception legislation — what many see as a return to regressive anti-women policies. It has been dubbed the "War on Women," and the people behind Unite Women are eager to send a message to their government representatives.


There were events in every state. Here's video of actor and activist Martha Plimpton's speech during the New York rally. Plimpton is one of the co-founders of the organization A is For.
