A dramatic-looking scene unfolded Friday morning in Kings Mountain, NC, as a train split a tractor-trailer in half after the latter got stuck on the tracks. (Caution: Turn down the volume before pressing play.)

According to local police, a truck hauling bales of cotton was unable to clear the tracks near Battleground Avenue and Oak Street. The driver and his passenger had abandoned the vehicle just prior to the collision, and no injuries were reported.

The intersection, which has seen a number of similar incidents over the past 10 years, has been temporarily shut down until the city can install a barrier to prevent truckers ignoring the "No Truck Crossing" signs from crossing.
