Everyone heads to Hulu to watch the best of network and cable TV wherever and whenever. But sometimes you're in that mood where nothing appeals to you more than the thought of a serious TV marathon. This is where Battleground—Hulu's original series about a group of under-30 small-town Wisconsin pundits working around the clock to win their underdog candidate a seat in the U.S. Senate—comes in. Executive produced by J.D. Walsh, Hagai Shaham, and Marc Webb, Battleground's documentary feel amps up the real drama of Anytown, USA politics.

For Tak, running a campaign is more than just a way to pay the bills—it's a mission. He's desperate to get a win under his belt and prove to his father, a man whose self-proclaimed claim to fame is inventing today's mud-slinging political culture, that good policy and a clean campaign can prevail. But with a losing track record and complicated personal life, Tak is consistently torn between his ethics and his desire to win, even contemplating the age-old question: are shady tactics okay if the best candidate wins?

Kara "KJ" Jamison, Head of Media Operations

KJ is a powerful female force in the male-dominated campaign and a moral compass that keeps everyone on track. But she can't seem to match her professional success in her personal life. Her seriousness can make the impression that she's too uptight, so she tries to combat being stereotyped as a bore by being egregiously (and charmingly) awkward at social functions. Both Tak and Cole don't mind a bit.

Cole Graner, Speechwriter

Ever wonder who wrote the infamous Howard Deen speech that caused him to lose the primary (and his mind?) 2004? It was Cole, the bearded bard you see above. Now he's searching for redemption by working with a lower-profile candidante...and flirting with KJ.

Ben Werner, Tak's Assistant

What political newbie Ben has in enthusiasm, he lacks in self-confidence. Just being near the campaign staff is dream, but when he lands a job as Tak's assistant he can hardly contain himself. His insider commentary that runs through the show provides another side of Tak—one that's much less confident.

Ali Laurents, Head of New Media

Ali is indispensable to the team, as is her deadpan sarcasm. As the head of new media, she's got an ear to the ground and a healthy Twitter obsession.

Jordan T. Mosely, Copyroom Supervisor

Jordan is the candidate's stepson. With a highly inflated idea of what his role is, he touts his "networking" and "O.T.B." (out of the box) ideas that usually involve squandering cash on parties and poker games. His involvement in the campaign is more of a liability than it is an asset. Too bad no one can fire him.

Lindsey Cutter, Intern

To bright-eyed optimist Lindsay (and to Ben, for that matter), the campaign is about achievement, not just winning. Her energy matches Ben's and after working together for a while, the two form a friendship that just might evolve into something more.
