While his mum is out celebrating 60 years of death avoidance, Prince Charles is earning his keep by filling in part-time for BBC Scotland's resident weatherperson.

During a tour yesterday of the news channel's Pacific Quay headquarters, the Prince of Wales and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, were invited to sit in on the lunchtime taping of Reporting Scotland.

The Prince took a more active role, delivering the day's weather forecast like a pro, quips and gibes and all.
