New Obama Ad Showcases Steel Workers: 'We View Mitt Romney as a Job Destroyer'
The new Obama ad "Steel" targets Mitt Romney's Bain Capital by focusing on a Kansas City steel mill bought by the private equity firm — the mill later went bankrupt.
Some are calling the ad — which is actually excerpted from a longer version — the "vampire" ad, because one steel worker says he views Bain as "a vampire. They came in and sucked the life out of us." This feels a little misleading, though you've got to admire headlines like "Obama 'vampire' ads go for the jugular" from Financial Times.
The reelection campaign has also launched the website RomneyEconomics.com, which includes the six-minute version of the ad. (I watched the whole thing. Still no actual vampires.)
