The victim of Rudy Eugene's cannibalistic attack has been identified as 65-year-old Ronald Poppo. Poppo, a homeless man with a long criminal record, is still alive in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital. If you're feeling brave, you can take a look at what's left of his face here.

Eugene—who also held a police record with a long string of arrests and who, after his divorce in 2005 listed his cell phone as his only asset—was shot and killed after an "initial shot failed to stop him from tearing away and swallowing chunks of Poppo's face."

Police are asking any and all witnesses of the attack to come forward.
