Robert Zemeckis hasn't made a single live-action film since 2000's acclaimed survival drama Cast Away.

In 2012, the Academy Award-winning auteur behind every movie you've ever loved makes his highly anticipated return in soaring style with Flight — a cinematic tour de force starring Denzel Washington as an airline pilot who makes a remarkable emergency landing and is hailed as a hero until "an investigation into the malfunctions reveals something troubling."

The film was reportedly inspired by the true story of Air Transat Flight 236, which was successfully guided to the ground by pilot Robert Piché after it ran out of fuel over the Atlantic Ocean.

Flight also stars Kelly Reilly, John Goodman, Don Cheadle, Melissa Leo, and Bruce Greenwood.

It is set to land (so, so sorry) in theaters November 2nd.
