A few days ago, nude photos of Snooki surfaced to little fanfare.

Sorry, but baring it all in front of a full-length mirror isn't big news when you're already grossly overexposed. Not to mention the fact that the number of people surprised by Snooki having nuds pics — and the number of people interested in seeing them — are considerably smaller than Jersey Shore's viewing audience.

But today Snooki's rep released a statement that's mostly notable for its inanity.

"Clearly these are old and personal photos that were not meant for the public," she told Us Weekly. Yes, clearly.

She went on to say, "It's a shame someone decided to leak them for obvious personal gain." You know, as opposed to all those people who leak nude photos out of the goodness of their hearts.

Look, I understand that there's protocol for responding to this sort of thing, but come on. A more straightforward answer to Us Weekly's question of, "Are these naked pics actually Snooki?" would have been a simple "yep," or even just a smile and nod.

Then again, being Snooki's rep can't be easy. Think about how much time she must devote just to correcting people who call her client "Snooki" as opposed to "Nicole Polizzi." Incidentally, oops.
