Political-pawn-turned-congressional-candidate Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher rips a page out of Herman Cain's Big Book of Political Ad Batshittery, claiming in his latest campaign promo that gun control established by Germany in 1939 is directly responsible for the Holocaust.

"In 1939, Germany established gun control," Wurzelbacher states over footage of himself shooting apples off logs at a makeshift range. "From 1939 to 1945, six million Jews and seven million others, unable to defend themselves, were exterminated."

He makes a similarly glib claim about the Armenian genocide.

"If you hunt or just like shooting guns, the 2nd Amendment will always be a good thing. History also tells us it's our last line of defense in the face of an out-of-control government," reads the video's description. "And killing fruits and vegetables is... what?"

Exactly.

UPDATE: Wurzelbacher's spokesman Phil Christofanelli responds: "[T]here's nothing offensive about [what was said in the video], it's just historical fact."
