Ron Jeremy, Twin Playboy Bunnies Involved in Failed Scheme to Ensnare Psycho Killer Luka Magnotta in 2011
An animal rights group sought to enlist the services of porn icon Ron Jeremy for a 2011 sting operation intended to bring animal abuse suspect Luka Rocco Magnotta to justice.
Before he became infamous for allegedly murdering and dismembering Chinese university student Lin Jun, Magnotta, an aspiring porn star, posted videos to the web of himself torturing kittens.
Rescue Ink hoped twin Playboy centerfolds Sia and Shane Barbi could assist them in convincing Jeremy to lure Magnotta to Los Angeles with the promise of a part in a porn film, but The Hedgehog backed out at the last minute out of concern for his safety.
"It's like an episode from some TV show. The [guy] comes to the set with lube in one hand and his schmeckle in the other thinking he has a job, and the cops tackle him to the ground," Jeremy told the Canadian Press. "That's good for the movies. That doesn't work in real life."
Rescue Ink is a Queens-based organization that relies on its members' law enforcement and military background to employ more direct methods in dealing with animal abuse suspects. Their motto is "sometimes the road to redemption isn't always a peaceful one."
Jeremy said he wanted to help out, but was "spooked" when Sia Barbi mentioned that Magnotta "could eventually harm humans." Jeremy suggested a larger shoot with multiple participants, but his schedule did not afford him the time to organize it.
Magnotta was arrested last month in Berlin and charged with Lin's murder. He later appeared before a judge in Montreal and pleaded not guilty to the crime.
