Three bear cubs had to be rescued by a New Mexico couple and their ladder after getting stuck inside a dumpster in Ruidoso.

This wasn't Tom and Shirley Schenk's first time "playing rescue ranger": The two have had to get the three cubs out of a similar jam at least twice before. "They know how to open the latch to the dumpster," Shirley told ABC News. "This mother is notorious in the neighborhood."

Shirley insisted that she and her husband didn't take any unnecessary risks in helping the bears out. "I was not scared," she said. "I had my husband driving and I knew we'd drop it and go... I would have never done that on foot."
