A Claxton, Tennessee man is accused of assaulting his live-in girlfriend over a photo of an unknown man he spotted on her Facebook page.

That man? GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

According to the Anderson County Sheriff's Department, upon seeing Romney's photo, Lowell Turpin, 40, "angrily demanded to know who the male was."

Not mollified by the response, Turpin accused the woman of "attempting to communicate with friends through her Facebook account," and proceeded to throw her laptop against a wall and punch her in the face.

He was charged with domestic assault and booked into Anderson County Jail.

Turpin apparently has a history of violence: The woman said he had struck her "multiple times over several years." He was charged with domestic assault and booked into Anderson County Jail.
