As of September 2010, Sankaty Credit Opportunities III LP held $1.6 billion in assets with a net return of 15.8% for the year.

Mitt Romney reported holding between $1 million and $5 million in the partnership in his IRA as of 2011, according to disclosures. He earned between $200 and $1,000 from the investment. The Ann D. Romney Blind Trust listed the partnership among its assets in 2011, but reported the value and income as zero. Both Mitt Romney's IRA and the Ann Romney Trust likewise listed Sankaty Credit Opportunities III LP as an asset in 2006, but described the holding's value as zero and reported no income.
