Hoping to counter the "bad name" Clint Eastwood gave "to older Americans everywhere with his absurd and awkward-to-watch introduction of Governor Romney" at last week's Republican National Convention, an ever-growing number of Internet users hope to convince the Democratic powers-that-be to let Betty White introduce President Obama at this week's Democratic National Convention.

An online petition at Change.org is just 600 supporters short of 10,000 signature goal at the time of writing, and a Facebook page entitled "Bring Betty White to the DNC" has just surpassed 31,000 likes.

"Governor Romney can have Clint Eastwood and his improvisational skills because President Obama has the one and only Betty White," said initiative organizers of the nonagenarian who endorsed Obama's re-election back in May.

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to White's rep for comment, but the likelihood that the beloved pop culture figure will be available is slim considering she has two TV shows currently in production.
