APEril the white-handed gibbon was rejected by her mother shortly after birth, but quickly found a suitable replacement in Chuck — a rescue cat who was similarly abandoned at birth.
United with the help of Dana Savorelli and the snake handling equipment firm Midwest Tongs, six-month-old APEril and Chuck (so-named for his past inability to hold on to his lunch) have formed a special bond of friendship on the one hand, and grudging tolerance on the other.
"We at Midwest Tongs will be taking care of her as she progress through life," Savorelli said. "We have had many people asking to see [APEril]. So we decided to try and have some video clips as she grows."
