Virginia Republican Party Official Says Obama's Road to Hell is Paved with Bush's Intentions
When it comes to incendiary attacks against President Obama, top Virginia GOP official Bob FitzSimmonds has his Republican colleagues beat.
"When Obama is 90 years old and he dies and goes to Hell, he is going to say ‘This is all Bush's fault,'" FitzSimmonds recently wrote on his Facebook page.
FitzSimmonds, treasurer of the Virginia Republican Party's State Central Committee and a "close ally of Virginia gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli," felt no need to apologize for his comment when contacted by the Hampton Roads Pilot.
"My Facebook post was not about Obama going to Hell," he told the paper. "It was about his obsession with blame shifting and I don't really see anything inappropriate about it."
Cuccinelli, however, is washing his hands of FitzSimmonds' remark lest it much up his run for Virginia governor. "Mr. FitzSimmonds does not speak for our campaign, and we don't agree with his assessment," he said through spokesman Noah Wall.
